Special Assembly for Diwali in Pre Primary
Lighting up the spirit of festivity, Pre-Primary celebrated Diwali on 11 November 2020 at a special virtual assembly.
As we know, Diwali is celebrated in diverse parts of our vast country and sometimes in somewhat varying traditions. However its core value remains the same. The festival celebrates the victory of good over evil – an important lesson for every child. And it is this triumph that is welcomed with lights.
On the appointed occasion the children came dressed in colourful ethnic attire and filled with new eagerness and great excitement for the programme to follow.
The assembly started with the children by turn, speaking a few lines about the festival. Why we celebrate it and the story of Diwali. The role play of Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman that followed, was specially enchanting. Specially composed rhymes were then sung in chorus, even as the little students took a pledge to say NO to crackers and NO to electric lights. Last but not the least the students of Pre Primary presented a folk dance to the endearing song, ‘ Mere tumhare sab ke liye’.
A Diwali craft activity concluded the celebration even as the important assembly closed with two invaluable learnings for our youngest Indianites, the first being the significance of the sense of duty and the second that truth and good always triumph over evil.
