Visit to the Delhi Book Fair

The Indian School–Second Shift organised an educational visit to the Delhi Book Fair for the students of various classes on different days between 1 and 8 August'25.

The objective of these visits was to encourage students to explore the world of books, interact with authors, and cultivate strong reading habits. At the fair, thr students visited several book stalls and stationery shops, including Govt. of NCT Delhi, Mukta Book Agency, Lee BookStore, Kores, and Doms, etc. These stalls showcased a wide range of books—from fiction and non-fiction to educational texts and children’s literature—as well as various stationery items.

Students enthusiastically browsed through numerous titles, gaining insights into different literary genres, the book publishing process, and the importance of reading. Many students purchased books, eager to immerse themselves in new stories and adventures. Popular picks included The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan, along with works by Satoshi Yagisawa, Margaret Atwood, and William Dalrymple. Thriller and horror genres were especially favored by the students.

The fair offered a vibrant blend of timeless classics and contemporary voices, creating an inspiring literary atmosphere.

Overall, the visit to the Delhi Book Fair was a deeply enriching experience. It not only expanded students’ knowledge of books and literature but also motivated them to read more and develop a lifelong love for reading. The event provided valuable resources and meaningful insights into the significance of books in shaping minds and imaginations.
