Co scholastic and other co curricular activities

In the 21st century, the pure academic type of education that students are introduced to, is steadily paving way to a whole new type of education with a special focus on incorporating three major genres of education: reasoning, psychomotor and emotional learning.

In order to achieve the target of an all round development of students, there is the prime need of striking a balance between the academic syllabus, curricular activities and co-curricular activities. A co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a typical pen and pencil classroom experience. It gives the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their non-academic abilities. These activities actually complement the curriculum of the school to groom students in the ‘Art of living and working together’. We at The Indian School - Second Shift  provide such an atmosphere for pupils to nurture with this new style of education.

As a Chinese proverb states: ‘Teach me, and I will forget. Show me, and I might remember. Involve me, and I will never forget.’ Through nunerous extra-curricular activities we cater to the needs of a 21st century education system and provide students with a platform to stimulate the power within, waiting to be unbound, as it were.

To begin with, students are given a platform to perform in classroom activities. From there they are led to speaking at thematic morning assemblies, class presentations, inter house events, inter school competitions. Many go on further participate in national and international events. With such exposure, Indianites are ready to excel like their best peers and better. Aesthetic development like character building, spiritual and moral values, physical growth, creativity etc. are supported with these co-curricular activities.
