Premchand Jayanti celebrations across classes 6-10

Premchand Jayanti was celebrated at The Indian School-Second Shift on 31st July 2025, commemorating the birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand, one of India’s most revered literary figures.

The event engaged students of classes 6 to 10 in diverse activities aligning with Premchand’s enduring legacy.
• Classes 6-8: Students designed bookmarks featuring Premchand’s portrait and his famous quotes, blending artistic expression with literary appreciation.
• Class 9: Students narrated some classic stories by Premchand, such as Idgah, Panch Parmeshwar and Namak ka Daroga, using expressive voice modulation to animate the narratives and their values.
• Class 10: An engaging discussion explored Premchand’s realistic writing style, his focus on social issues, and the continued relevance of his stories.

Students also shared thoughtful interpretations and their personal perspectives of Premchand's works.

The goal of the programme was to foster a love for Hindi literature and to inspire students to reflect on the social messages in Premchand’s works. Through these activities, the students also enhanced their creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
