National Youth Day celebrations on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

‘You have to grow from inside out. There is no other teacher but your own soul’.

The philosophy of Swami Vivekananda continues to be a great source of inspiration for the youth of our nation. To offer tribute to the great teacher, we celebrated National Youth Day on January 12, 2021 online with an array of activities across levels.

Swami Vivekanand saw hope for the future in every child. The students of the Pre-school and Pre-primary were shown a video which demonstrated the indomitable spirit of the Indian youth. Teachers explained that children hold the power to bring a change and make our society a better place. An action song was taught to the young students- 'A Better Place by Playing for Change'. The students also enjoyed playing with colours during a blow painting activity conducted in the virtual classes.

Keeping in mind the theme 'channelising youth power for nation building ', the students of classes 1 and 2 were sensitised on ways to harness potential and achieve their aspirations. An audio-visual clip and a power point presentation were also shown.

The students of class 3 wrote down famous quotes from Swami Vivekananda's teachings on colour sheets. The teachers shared the philosophy and the ideals for which he lived and worked as an inspiration for Indian youth. Students also expressed their views about what they learnt.

The students of class 6 sang songs on Yuva Diwas. The students of Classes 7 and 8 recorded videos and recited poems on how "I am the change that the nation wants”. The students enthusiastically articulated  their love for their country and spoke about the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels. The discussion also focused on how India can overcome her challenges using the immense potential of her youth.
