Exploring beyond boundaries - class V interacts with peers in Nigeria

The students of class V enthusiastically reached out to their counterparts of  class V at The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria, on 22 December 2020. As it was a mystery Skype session, the curiosity to identify the country to which the counterparts belonged, was clearly evident in the eyes of the young learners through the virtual meet session!

Our students interacted with Mr. Amalike James, educator, and his class V students.  After the customary greetings, the two groups across the screen dropped clever clues to test if their peers could guess the name of their two countries!

The Foundationers were the first ones to guess the country of their peers! The next part of the session saw the two sides exchanging information about each other, including cultural practices and norms. They discussed each other’s flags, geographical details, the currencies used  etc.

It was an extremely educative experience for the students of class V. The interactive and informative session exposed them to a new culture, geographical facts and the way of life in Nigeria. It was particularly delightful to observe the extent of eagerness amongst our students to know more about children like themselves in Nigeria. It was a novel introduction to the peers in a less familiar part of the world.
