Webinar- "Study and Exam Skills in the Digital Era"
The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” - Brian Herbert
A webinar, ‘Study and Exam Skills in the Digital Era’ was conducted by Fortis Healthcare under the aegis of Dr Samir Parikh. It was for the students of classes VI to VIII and was held on 5 March, 2021. Resource person, Ms Anusha Tyagi, counselling psychologist, focused on attempting to draw out the creative skills of students even as they learn online.
Considering the change in learning and academic set up on account of the pandemic, it has become the need of the hour to empower the children with skills to overcome the challenges of iy and equip them with effective ways of digital learning.
The broad scope of the webinar included study skills to adapt to digital learning, a discussion on effective revision routines, concentration exercises, techniques to unplug and detox and tips for stress-busting during exams. Covering a wide spectrum of the 'new normal' and ways to maintain a balanced life in digital times were also a part of the discussion.
The students learnt about time management, the value of persevering and staying determined which remain essential in a distance learning scenario. In addition to this, the students were taught to not fear failure, rather to focus on ensuring that they understand what they are learning.
The webinar concluded with a question- answer round where queries of the students were answered.
