Teacher training for the prevention of Corona Virus
A workshop on COVID-19 was conducted by District Surveillance Officer, Ms Anuja Vasudeva on 13 March, 2020 at GBSSS, R.K. Puram. It was attended by our Mr. Karmendra as our School’s Nodal Officer. The workshop was organised to create awareness among schools and the general public in regard to the Corona virus.
The workshop focused on cautioning about various platforms disseminating wrong information as well as on providing society with appropriate ways and techniques to safeguard itself.
Corona viruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
Ways of reducing the risk of the Corona virus Infection advised were:
(i). Clean hands with soap and water or an alcohol based hand rub.
(ii). Avoid close contact with persons having cold or flu like symptoms.
(iii). Isolation of symptomatic patients for at least 14 days.
(iv). Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or a flexed elbow.
The Human Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is most commonly spread from an infected person to others through:
• Droplets in the air from coughing and sneezing
• Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands
• Touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands.
