Special assembly for Rakshabandhan by Pre primary students
“A love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions.”
On Wednesday, 14 August 2019, Pre-primary Dove presented a special assembly on Rakshabandhan, the festival which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
The assembly commenced with an introduction by Silver and Vedant, who shared the significance of the festival and how the bond between a brother and a sister is celebrated in India. This was followed by a role play by the students, demonstrating that it is equally the responsibility of brothers and of sisters to look after and cherish each other.
The children presented a skit which demonstrated that girls and boys are equally capable of protecting each other. Neither is superior. Later in the classroom the girls and boys tied rakhi on each others’ wrists in great merriment.
The students also spoke about ‘Vrikshabandhan’ and pledged to protect trees because trees give us life. The essence of Raksha Bandhan was further conveyed by a beautiful song ‘ phulo ka taro ka, sabka kehna hai’.The assembly concluded with a dance presentation on the song ‘ Oh behna meri behna’. The atmosphere was infused with festivity.
Ms. Susan Thomas, Development Advisor complimented the little ones and their teachers for the festive performance. She emphasised on strengthening the bond not only between siblings at home but between the citizens of society at large. She also reiterated the vital importance of trees.
