National Technology Day celebrations in classes 6-9

"Technology is nothing. What's important is that you have a faith in people, that they're basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they'll do wonderful things with them." Steve Jobs

Every year on May 11th, India observes National Technology Day. It is a day to commemorate India's scientific and technological achievements and recognise the contribution of Indian scientists and engineers towards the advancement of technology.

The Indian School-Second Shift celebrated National Technology Day on May 10th, with enthusiastic participation from the students of classes 6 to 9. The aim of these activities was to inculcate values like creativity, innovation and critical thinking among the students, as well as to enhance their understanding of technology and its impact on society.

Several activities were organised to mark the occasion, including poster-making, quizzes, and debates.  The students were given the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and creativity, as well as to learn from one another. Through these activities, the students were able to learn about the importance of technology in various fields, such as medicine, agriculture and communication. They also learnt about the various ethical, social, and environmental issues associated with technology and how these can be addressed through responsible and sustainable practices. It also instilled a sense of national pride by highlighting India's achievements in the field of technology.

The enthusiasm and interest shown by the students were commendable, and it was clear that they had gained a greater appreciation for technology.

Overall, the celebration of National Technology Day was a great success, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the various activities. It helped to promote a spirit of innovation and creativity among them and encouraged them to think critically and scientifically. School hopes to continue organising such events in the future to foster an interest in science and technology among its students.
