World Environment Day is observed every year on June 5 and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for protecting the environment. The theme for World Environment Day 2025 is “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience”. It focuses on reversing land degradation and enhancing the ecosystems’ capacity to support people and the planet.

This day is commemorated each year to highlight the vital importance of environmental protection. It serves as a powerful reminder of our shared duty to preserve the planet for future generations. The occasion focuses on encouraging conservation efforts and raising awareness about the state of our environment.
