KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS celebrations across the classes
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July to commemorate the brave Indian soldiers who fought for more than two months to check Pakistan’s forces and regaining control of the high outposts that were surreptitiously occupied by them earlier. This year we complete 22 years of this momentous victory.
Students of The Indian School-Second Shift celebrated ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ to remember India’s victory and to pay tribute to the martyrs who are the symbol of courage and sacrifice.
Our Pre school students dressed as Indian soldiers presented a group dance to the tune of “Jagga Jiteya". Students of Pre primary were shown a Power Point presentation to explain the significance of the occasion. Students made cards with oil pastels with messages for our soldiers on the borders.

Students of class 2 watched videos and a presentation related to this special day. They remembered the sacrifice of the soldiers and created beautiful posters and badges to pay tribute to them.

The students by turn spoke a few lines on the importance of the soldier in our lives and also shared the stories of captain Subedar Vikram Batra and Lieutenant Manoj Kumar and the roles they played in the war. This was followed by a scintillating dance performance by our young dancers to the patriotic song', “Teri Mitti”.
Students of class 4 made colourful posters to depict the victory with drawings of the Indian army recapturing the Indian posts in Kargil that had been occupied by Pakistan’s Army.
Students of class 5 lit candles and observed 2 minutes' silence to pay homage. They wrote poems in Hindi
