Honours at Vasantotsav, an inter school competition
A group of talented students represented The Indian School-Second Shift at ‘ Vasantotsav’ an annual competition held at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, on 25 January 2020. Many reputed schools of Delhi NCR participated in this grand song and dance event. On the second day of the event, the Foundationers took part in 2 categories- Group Sufi Song Competition for classes class III-V and Group Patriotic Dance Competition for students of classes III-V. The participants were welcomed with a beautiful instrumental music performance by artists of the host school. Thereafter, the host Principal addressed the gathering on the significance of Vasantotsav and Indian culture. The competition commenced with a Sufi Song competition. Our mellifluous singers gave an award-winning performance by singing the timeless, “Dam Maste Kalandar Mast Mast” . Their performance left the audience craving for more. The second event was the Group Patriotic Dance competition where our students performed a vibrant fusion dance to ‘Vande Mataram’. The energetic dance infused with patriotic fervour and choreographic nuances mesmerised the audience. All the performances were highly appreciated by the judges. Our Sufi singers were awarded the second position. The team comprised Hasan Tanveer, Hussain Tanveer, Mohammed Ayaan, Bhavyaa Chaudhary of Class-IV, Sukaina Fatima of Class-III, Aleena Baig, Drishti Bakshi, Ankita Jaiswal, Sadaf and Kartik Mehra of Class-V. It was a great learning experience for both the students and their teachers.
