Honours at TechSMERT 2020- interschool competition

The Indian School-Second Shift aims at nurturing young minds by providing a platform to showcase their talents.

The students of The Indian School-Second Shift participated in various virtual events at TechSMERT 2020, organised by DAV Public School, Gurugram. The event commenced on 19 July 2020 and concluded on 4 August 2020. Talented teams from around 30 schools of the country put forth their best performances in the virtual competition. The young learners from The Indian School-Second Shift were very enthusiastic to participate in the events titled Sketch-up, Graffiti, Memes of everything and Be-seen.

It is a matter of immense delight to share that Arpit Patel of Class IV A participated in the event “Sketch Up” and bagged the 2nd position in the competition. He designed a mask on the theme “My World, My Happiness” as provided by the host school.

Sarthak Ghosh of çlass VIII participated in the online poster making competition ‘Graffiti’. He created a visual infographic on the topic; ‘COVID 19 and Food safety’ in the first round. Sarthak was among 12 nominated participants to be shortlisted for the second round of the competition. In the second round, Sarthak came up with vivid ideas and designed three digital posters on the topics; ‘Ayurveda as a blessing’, ‘Inorganic VS Organic eatables’ and ‘ Future prospects keeping COVID 19 in mind’.

Dhairya Saran and Bhoomi Barua of class VIII crafted digital content filled with humour in the category; ‘Memes of everything’. The enthusiastic team designed original memes on the topic ‘ Busting COVID 19 myths’ and ‘climate change’. 

Harshita Khurana of class VII A showcased her dancing talent in the event “Be Seen”.  She presented a
fusion dance that was also uploaded on the Instagram page of the host school. The result of the online competition was declared by the host school on 4 August 2020 in the live valedictory ceremony on its Facebook page. 

The students were thrilled to be part of the experience which offered them an opportunity to display their talents, explore their skills and learn new ones
amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown couldn’t lock the capabilities which instilled within the Foundationers.
