Class 4B collaborates with peers in Vietnam

“We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging because when students are engaged and they are interested, that’s where learning takes place.”

On June 18, 2021, the students of class 4B along with their English teacher Ms Neelima Oberoi attended a collaborative session with Ms Duyen To Nu Kieu from Truong THCS Ngyuyen Trai School in Gia Lai, Vietnam. The occasion was Book Reading Day.

The excitement was infectious as the students from both the sides greeted each other and introduced themselves. Our students talked about their favourite books and discussed their favourite characters from the books. They also donned masks of their favourite characters. The students in Vietnam read stories for our students.

The students on both sides discussed the weather conditions and the time difference between India and Vietnam. They were delighted to know about each other and discuss the kind of books that are read in both countries.

As rightly said by Vera Nazarian, Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light. The students got a marvellous opportunity to participate in this collaborative effort to inculcate the habit of reading.

The session ended with a promise to write emails to each other and become pen pals forever.
