The Indian School proudly hosted the Zone 23 Zonal Chess Championship 2026 from 7th to 10th July 2026. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the government and private schools across the zone.
The competition was conducted in three categories Under-14 (Sub-Junior), Under-17 (Junior), and Under-19 (Senior) for both boys and girls. The event provided a competitive platform for young chess players to demonstrate their strategic thinking, concentration, and sportsmanship.
The Indian School-Second Shift participated in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories. Our Under-14 Boys' team delivered an impressive performance by advancing to the quarter finals, displaying determination and excellent teamwork throughout the tournament.
The championship proved to be a valuable learning experience for all participants. Students had the opportunity to compete against players from various schools, including several highly ranked chess players. The exposure helped them enhance their game, develop confidence, and gain insights into competitive chess.
