Tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place when General Dyer ordered troops to fire on the largely peaceful crowd gathered to protest against the Rowlatt Act. The Rowlatt Act was a controversial piece of legislation enacted by the British colonial government in 1919, that empowered the government to arrest and detain Indians without trial, sparking widespread protests and agitation across the nation.
The students of classes 6 to 9 at The Indian School- Second Shift paid tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh by writing inspirational slogans to convey their understanding of the incident and what truly transpired on that day.
Class 7 observed the day by collecting historic articles having prominence around the world. Articles written by various editors and their critical viewpoints were thoroughly discussed in the classes instilling critical thinking ability.
The students of classes 8 and 9 made attractive posters to create awareness about the sad occasion. They also engaged in a discussion on the topic.
The students promised to work even harder to fulfil the dreams of the great freedom fighters, to build a strong and developed India.
