Top honour at INTACH film festival

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) organises an annual film festival called FILMIT to create awareness about India’s rich cultural heritage. The festival features documentaries, short films, and animations based on India’s history, monuments, traditions, and art. It helps people, especially school students, learn about and appreciate India’s heritage through films.

On 3rd February 2026, INTACH held its 18th Film Festival where students from different schools across Delhi took part and presented films created over the past few months.

The festival also screened some of the best films from Delhi and across India, giving students exposure to diverse ideas and storytelling styles. The event was led by Ms Purnima Datt, Principal Director at INTACH.

The festival concluded with the distribution of prizes to students whose films impressed the audience. Suryanshi Mishra of Class 8, Arsh-Ul-Hasan-Zaidi and Drishti Khareta of class 7, Naman Kumar and Parineeti Rewaria of Class 6 won the award for Best Original Story for their film, “The Song she Sang”.

The festival helped students develop creativity and understand the importance of protecting and preserving India’s cultural heritage.
