THE INDIAN SCHOOL SECOND SHIFT OBSERVES INDIAN ARMY DAY

The Indian School - Second Shift offered homage and gratitude to the Indian army by observing the 74th Army Day in great zeal. 15 January is a historic day because on this day General KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Indian army in 1949. He took over from the last English commander after India got freedom from British rule. This day is a grand celebration of India’s military might and its heroes.

To mark this day, the students of Pre-School to class VIII shared their experiences, admiration and gratitude to the Indian army.The occasion was observed in all the classes on 14 Friday, 2022 virtually. The young children paid tribute through multiple virtual performances and thanked the soldiers for their services to the motherland.

The Pre-school and Pre-Primary children recited patriotic poems during the virtual class. A video on the life of Indian soldiers and lessons of their brave deeds was shown to the children. The children then made posters to honour the valiant soldiers. Students of Pre-primary were dressed as soldiers and introduced themselves in  terms of nation, culture and heritage.  

The students of classes 1 and 2 also observed the occasion by painting posters to show their respect and gratitude for the armed forces.

The students of classes 3 and 4 narrated real time stories of valour of Indian soldiers. Students were also shown a short video to apprise them of the origin of the occasion. They sang patriotic songs. 

The students of classes 5 and 6 offered salute to our brave soldiers by sharing important facts about the Indian army. They engaged in a discussion about the importance of patriotism.

The students of classes 7 and 8 got inspired by a video on the invaluable contribution of the Indian army through history. The teachers explained the heroic efforts of the soldiers with stories. They urged students to stay united, fight against terrorism and stand together for the safety of mankind as responsible citizens of the future.
