TFS does its First Video Conference
The Indian School-Second Shift has found a way to knock down the walls of their classrooms and engage the students in rich conversations with other children.
Teleconferencing technology is used to enable us to connect with different schools across countries to broaden the learning experience. The purpose is to provide world class education at School by bringing the world into the classroom.
On 7th October, 2015, TFS launched its first video conference with the students of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar. Being the first session, it was an introductory one, where both the schools shared information about themselves and their Schools. The children were very happy to see themselves and their new found friends on screen! They waved their hands frantically as they saw themselves on the screen!

The session began with each child introducing himself/herself. The children were given ample opportunities to ask questions like: the different activities they do at School, their favourite festivals, steps taken to save the environment etc. It was impressive to see the children communicating clearly and effectively on their own.
A wonderful experience , we hope to have more such conferences with other schools in the near future, so as to make video conferencing a valuable tool in keeping our teaching practices apace with evolving technology.
