Teacher workshop on achieving excellence
“Nourish the mind with one positive thought at a time.”
An interactive workshop, titled ‘Living in Excellence- Beyond Teaching’, was conducted for teachers by inspirational speaker, Guru Swami Chidrupanandaji at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar on 27 April 2024. Around 120 educators from different schools attended this workshop. Ms Rekha Kapoor attended the workshop on behalf of The Indian School- Second Shift. The objective was to explore innovative approaches that can help teachers to plan their classroom activities better.
The workshop was organised by Chinmaya Mission, Noida, at the said school. Swamiji stated that excellence cannot be achieved unless we have a goal. During the workshop, he focused on the idea of empowering the mind and nurturing the intellect. He drew everyone’s attention to the knowledge that the Bhagavad Gita contains and the need to accept that knowledge.
The speaker emphasised that teachers play an important role in the all-round development of students, and also take responsibility for the holistic growth of children. A teacher can impart in students, the knowledge that they require for a healthy, productive and happy life. They also pave the way to success for the students by giving them the wings to explore, innovate and create.
The workshop dealt with ideas such as the need for intellectual transformation, types of strengths, and stages of intellectual growth, all required by a person to achieve excellence in life. Swamiji reiterated that quality life demands a clarity of thought and pure intentions as well as the spontaneous channelisation of intellectual, mental, and physical energies.
The workshop proved to be a memorable learning experience for the teachers. With a powerful message, the session was informative and enriching. The session culminated with a question-answer round, which further enlightened one and all present there.
