Summer Projects Exhibition

The Indian School-Second Shift students showcased that learning does not end at their classroom door. Once recharged after an invigorating summer vacation, they returned excited to show their holiday homework. All the projects were exhibited for the parents to view at the Summer Project Exhibition on 5th July 2014. The Pre-primary students recycled used tetra packs, blending the theme of the West coast of India and sustainability. The woven mats edged with Warli art borders in different colours captured every visitors attention. There was a display of Gujarati torans in various shapes and colours too. Students had also omade animal puppets using paper bags. The Primary section set up an array of rockets and solar system models on the topic Space Exploration . There was also a display of paper mats with exceptional Warli art designs. Students of class I had created models of the famous snake boats of Kerala and lamp shades using the coconut shell creativity at its best!! The parents were delighted to see the handiwork of the students whilst the children themselves were busy trying to spot their own special creation amidst the collection! The parents enthusiastically clicked away pictures of the exhibits and complimented the teachers for their work. The morning ended with twinkling eyes and jolly faces looking forward to more exciting activities in the coming months. Ms. Neelima Oberoi, Class Teacher: PP Pelican.
