Special assembly by classes 4 and 5 on Basant Panchami

Knowledge is power, and on Basant Panchami, we celebrate the goddess who empowers us with wisdom and understanding.

The students of classes 4 and 5 of The Indian School-Second Shift presented a special assembly on Basant Panchami on 1st February 2025. The assembly began with a brief introduction that highlighted the significance of the occasion and its diverse celebration across India under different names. India, known for its rich cultural heritage and agrarian roots, has embraced various traditions over the years to honour the harvest season.

The assembly featured poetry recitation by the students, adding a touch of rhythm to the occasion. The auditorium was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers as a warm welcome to Goddess Saraswati, seeking her blessings for wisdom and prosperity. Intricate rangoli designs, crafted with vibrant colours and flowers, further enhanced the festive spirit. Students also read aloud citations marking the importance of the day.

A synchronised dance performance by students of classes 4 and 5 to the invocation, Saraswati Vandana, captivated the audience with its mesmerising visuals. Additionally, the choir brought rhythm and harmony to the celebration. To conclude the event, Riddhi of class 5 engaged everyone in an interactive pop-up quiz, sparking enthusiasm and excitement among the attendees.

The assembly was graced by our Headmistress, who delivered an inspiring address on the significance of the festival. She encouraged students to respect their culture and traditions.

This special assembly not only deepened the students' understanding of their cultural heritage but also fostered appreciation for the diverse traditions of India.
