Preschool excursion to Traffic Park
An excursion to the Traffic Park was organised for the Preschool students of The Indian School-Second Shift on 6th August, 2015. The visit was not only an educational one but also intriguing. It encouraged our little ones to learn basic road safety rules the fun way, thus initiating safe road user behaviour in them.
The excited pre schoolers eagerly boarded the buses and the excursion began on a excited note as they sang rhymes and enjoyed their snack on the way.

At the Traffic Park, the Inspector-in-charge showed the tiny tots around and explained the basic road signs and traffic rules. The little visitors were excited to see the fabricated pedestrian pathways, sign-boards and traffic lights.
It was an enriching experience for the children as they learnt about the use of footpaths, subways, foot-over bridges and zebra crossings. An interactive session on the importance of wearing the seat belt at all times, avoiding the use of cell phones while driving, not to jump a red light, and not to over speed held the attention of the students and they waited to go home and tell their parents about what heard! There was also a short question-answer session on the means of transport and the students enthusiastically volunteered answers.
Overall it was a fruitful trip with a refreshing mix of education and entertainment.
