Pre school and Pre primary visit the Dolls Museum
The students of Pre school and Pre Primary were taken on an excursion to the Dolls Museum on October 13, 2023 to view and admire a wide variety of dolls from around the world. The museum, resembling a magical wonderland, houses an impressive collection of 6000 dolls from 85 countries. Each doll is unique. The children were thrilled to see such a vast display of dolls under one roof. Furthermore, every section in the museum showcased the traditional costumes, dance forms and musical instruments of different regions across the globe.
Scenes from the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Gandhiji’s Dandi March, man arriving on the moon, the dances of India etc., were elaborately depicted with dolls. On display were also dolls from diverse countries like Russia, Indonesia, Mexico and India etc., which gave the children a glimpse into their rich cultural diversities.
The students enjoyed their excursion and enthusiastically lapped up all they saw. They animatedly exchanged observations with their classmates even as they learnt of the dress, traditions, legends etc of distant cultures.
Another occasion of ‘ edutainment’, the day was a successful example of education by entertainment.
