Our youngest bring in Lohri
Lohri, the harvest festival of Punjab, is celebrated on 13th January each year, to mark the end of the cold months and the arrival of spring. It is traditionally associated with the harvest of the Rabi (winter) crop.
In true spirit of Punjab, the children of Pre-School and Pre-Primary celebrated the festival at School. The children of PS Sparrow and PP Swan conducted a special assembly, beautifully dressed in colourful ethnic attire and sang the traditional lohri folk song Sunder Mundriye. A few stepped forward to speak a few lines about the importance of the harvest festival and how it is celebrated every year. The highlight of the assembly was a foot-tapping song Lo aa gayi lohri ve by the children as a group.

The celebration was followed by the lighting of a bonfire known as the Dulla Bhatti.
Head Teacher, Ms. Thomas, all the teachers and children gathered around as popcorn, peanuts and rewari were handed around. The children delightedly tapped their feet and clapped to the lively music playing in the background.
It was a wonderful opportunity for all to interact and enjoy the festivity with each other. The afternoon ended in cheer and with the message of oneness and brotherhood.
