Orientation 2024-25

“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.”–   Confucius

The Indian School-Second Shift conducted an orientation for parents on 26 March, 2024. The purpose of the orientation was to provide our new parents with a comprehensive understanding of the School's mission, values, programmes and policies.

The orientation began with a warm welcome by Headmistress, Ms Sheeja Menon, who outlined the agenda for the session and emphasised the importance of parental involvement in a child's education.

A detailed presentation was made in regard of our School's history, its vision, and academic achievements. This included information about the curriculum, extra curricular activities and support services available to students.

Parents had the opportunity to interact key faculty members, which facilitated communication channels between the parents and the School staff.

A segment of the orientation focused on the various support services offered by School, such as counseling, special education and health services. Parents were provided with contact information and resources for accessing these services.

The importance of parental involvement in the academic success of students was underscored throughout the orientation. Parents were encouraged to participate in school activities, volunteering opportunities and the parent-teacher association. An overview of School policies and procedures, including attendance, discipline, assessment and safety protocols, was provided to ensure that the parents become familiar with the expectations and guidelines of the institution.

The School orientation for parents served as an informative session, fostering a sense of partnership between School and parents in supporting the students' educational journey. By providing insights into the School's programmes and resources, the orientation aimed to empower and encourage parents to actively participate in their child's academic and personal development.

Parents were encouraged to stay connected with School through regular communication channels, such as newsletters, parent-teacher conferences and School events. Additionally, resources and contact information were provided for parents to access further support or information as needed.
