New Frontiers of Science and Technology at IISF

On 17 January 2024, Ms Nidhi Vatsa, science teacher at The Indian School- Second Shift, had the privilege of attending the ‘Face to Face with New Frontiers of Science and Technology’ event at the India International Science Festival (IISF). The event featured two enlightening sessions, each delving into ground-breaking areas of scientific exploration.

The first session, conducted by Dr Siddhant Wadhwani, focused on the boundless potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr Wadhwani, a leading expert in the field, provided valuable insights into the advancements, applications, and challenges associated with generative AI. The discussion covered topics ranging from machine learning algorithms to the ethical considerations surrounding AI development. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how generative AI is shaping the future of technology and its potential impact on various industries.

The second session, led by Dr Masha Maharaj from the Nuclear Medicine Centre of Excellence in South Africa, unveiled the power of nuclei in a captivating exploration of nuclear medicine innovations. Dr Maharaj shared her expertise on the latest advancements in nuclear medicine and their applications in healthcare. The session covered breakthroughs in diagnostic imaging, therapeutic treatments, and the role of nuclear medicine in personalised medicine. Attendees were taken on a journey through the fascinating world of nuclear medicine, gaining insights into how it continues to revolutionise medical practices.

The visit to IISF and participation in the event provided a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge developments in both generative AI and nuclear medicine.
