Mother's Day celebrations in classes Pre school to class 2
“Mothers love – a brilliant gem to be treasured.”
Mother's Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the love and sacrifices of mothers and mother figures. It is a cherished occasion to honour the incredible women who shape our lives. It is a moment to reflect on the sacrifices, guidance, and unconditional love these remarkable women provide. Whether through simple gestures or grand celebrations, Mother's Day is a beautiful tribute to the maternal bond worldwide.
As a celebration of honouring the mother, Mother's Day was celebrated in high spirits and merriment at The Indian School-Second Shift. This being one of those occasions, that none of us can afford to miss, was zealously enjoyed by one and all. The children expressed their love and gratitude for their mothers and cherished the bond that they share with their mothers.
In Pre school, the little ones celebrated the bond of love and happiness by making beautiful greeting cards made from old newspapers using water colours. The children crafted flowers with recycled paper. They sang melodious songs dedicated to their mothers.
The Pre primary made special cards. They tore bits of coloured paper and glued these onto cards in a creative way. It was much fun and the cards they made were cute and special.
The students of classes 1 and 2 volunteered innovative gifting ideas for their mothers. After a brainstorming session, they shared in class how they can create a special gift. They also spoke about their mothers in class and told their peers why mother is special.
As a part of the Sanskara Syllabus of our School, the idea of “Matru Devo Bhava”, which means “Revere your mother as God”, was inculcated in the young minds. The children were also reminded that our country and our planet are also mother figures for us, and we should always respect, protect, preserve and honour both, as we do our mothers.
Apart from being an enjoyable and memorable day for each child, the celebration nourished and nurtured the innocent hearts.
