On 22nd July 2017, during Literary Week, students of classes V and VI got an opportunity to meet well known author, Ms. Ketaki Karnik.
Ms. Karnik said she enjoys doing read aloud sessions of detective stories at schools and has conducted sessions at several leading schools She has been a part of the Jaipur Literature Festival and the Kahaani Festival.
The case of the Chinese Mastermind is her debut book and her second book, The case of the Wishing Vampires is to be released soon. This is the first time that our School invited her and she was delighted to meet our cheerful young students .
She took her story plot to Emperor Akbars palace and her characters were a TV reporter, Varun,va cameraman, Siddharth, a renowed mathematician, Aryabhata, a weird man with a criminal record and a Chinese lady who worked in the office.
[gallery link="none" ids="11282,11283,11284"]She asked the group to imagine themselves in a mysterious situation. They were then transported to a crime scene where they were landed a situation where they had to solve a mystery and acquit themselves, as it were. It was a case of a stolen diamond!
The tale was about how these 4 persons are landed with the blame but take it upon themselves to find the truth and free themselves. Eventually they are able to nab the culprit with the help of a witness. This was the most exciting part of the story!
The story session was thoroughly enjoyed by the children as they were themselves involved as protagonists. It seemed like a terrific real life mystery workshop!
Ms Karnik herself said she enjoyed the session and left with a promise to come back.
