JUGALBANDI 2025

“Where words fail, music speaks.” Hans Christian Andersen

Jugalbandi 2025–26, hosted by The Indian School–Second Shift on 13 November 2025, unfolded as a mesmerising celebration of rhythm, melody, and youthful creativity. This year’s theme, “Swar–Tarangini”, paid tribute to the timeless beauty of classical and semi-classical musical traditions, allowing students to immerse themselves in expressive movement, soulful notes, and artistic harmony.

The event was graced by Dr (Mrs) Nayana Goradia, Ms Brinda Shroff, Dr Anu Singh, and Ms Neena Maini, whose encouraging presence added depth and warmth to the occasion.

The morning commenced with a heartfelt welcome and the symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony. A melodious welcome song by the School choir set a serene and uplifting tone. An inspiring video message from our revered chief guest, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, the legendary Grammy Award–winning creator of the Mohan Veena, motivated young performers to pursue artistic excellence with passion and dedication.

Headmistress Ms Sanjeeta Roy addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of platforms that encourage students to embrace creativity and cultural expression. The event was judged by eminent jurists, Ms Aishwarya Srivastava for the dance segment, and Ms Neha Vats Khankriyal along with Mr Farheed Ahmed Khan for the music segment.

The stage soon came alive with a vibrant sequence of dance performances, each creatively interpreting the theme Swar–Tarangini through expressive choreography and graceful presentation. These were followed by enthralling music performances, where participants showcased classical and semi-classical compositions with finesse, demonstrating command over sur, taal, and artistic nuance. A nostalgic video montage, “Glimpses of Previous Years: Jugalbandi”, added an emotional touch as it highlighted the event’s cherished legacy.

The celebration culminated in a grand award ceremony where the outstanding performances of the day were recognised. In the dance category, The Mother’s International School secured the First Position, followed by The Indian School in the Second Position and Ahlcon International School in the Third Position.

In the music category, Tagore International School, East of Kailash emerged as the winner, while The Indian School claimed the Second Position. The Third Position was a tie between Bluebells School International and Air Force Bal Bharati School. The winners received trophies and certificates, and all participating schools were awarded certificates, with students beaming with pride and joy as they celebrated their artistic achievements.

The event concluded in a wave of celebration, joy, and artistic pride as students received well-deserved recognition for their exceptional performances. Beyond the trophies and certificates, Jugalbandi 2025–26 gifted every participant a renewed confidence and unforgettable moments of creative expression. With its vibrant spirit and cultural richness, the event once again underscored the School mission to champion creativity, nurture young talent, and celebrate the power of the performing arts.
