Janamashtami Celebrations

The students of the pre-primary and class II presented special assemblies on the occasion of Janamashtami.

The celebrations began with an invocation to Lord Krishna. Next, the teachers told the story of the birth of Krishna and His delightful antics as a child. Several volunteers from our little audience happily contributed to the story!

The pre-primary choir sang a self- composed song prepared for the occasion and the students of class II staged a skit.

A dance depicting Lord Krishna and his gopis delighted the children. It was wonderful to see the little ones keep to the rhythm and step confidently. The children also attempted to enact the 'Dahi Handi' scene which is popular feature in the streets of Maharashtra . The audience cheered and clapped as the handi was reached and broken!

The assembly concluded as our Head Teacher addressed the students and by turn, the children gave a gentle tug to the string from Bal Krishna's cradle.

Harmonious in form, tantalising and vibrant in hue- the function won the hearts of everyone present.Cheers to the pre-primary!!!!
