Janamashtami celebration
Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The festival is celebrated by decorating Krishna idols, dancing and enactments of Krishna's life, and singing devotional songs. It is widely celebrated across India and abroad.
To celebrate Lord Krishna’s birth, students of Pre School to class 2 participated in a special assembly on 4 September 2023, and students of classes 3 to 5 engaged in various activities.
The tiny tots of Pre school and Pre primary danced to the catchy tune of ‘Choti Choti Gaiyaan, Chote Chote Gwaal.’ Dressed in ethnic clothes, they looked divine!
Class 1 mesmerised its peers with musical magic. The class sang ‘Krishna khade madhuban mein, Radha ke ghar jaana hai” which was enjoyed by one and all.
Class 2 showcased the friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudama through a skit. Through this enactment, they were acquainted with historical significance, cultural understanding, art and valuable moral lessons. The assembly was a joyous celebration, and these young students added a touch of sweetness to the occasion with their vibrant performance and charming appearance.
Class 3 made colourful Janamashtami cards, taking inspiration from the life of the young Lord Krishna. Class 4 crafted the bansuri or flute with newspaper. They also painted and decorated earthen pots.
Class 5 learnt to dance to the song ' Gokul ka gwaala, bansuri wale,’ and also presented the act of Makhan Chori, through dance movements and expressions.
The students celebrated Krishna Janamashtami with zeal and enthusiasm. They learnt about th cultural significanc of the occasion besides the enduring values of brotherhood and friendship as practiced by Lord Krishna.
