Intach museum walk for classes 6-8
The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) organised an enriching museum walk for the students of classes 6 to 8 on 17th May’ 2024, at the National Museum. This educational initiative aimed to enhance the students' understanding of history, art, and culture through an interface with historical artefacts and exhibits.
The walk commenced with a brief session on museum etiquette, emphasising the importance of respecting artefacts and exhibits. The students were informed about the significance of preserving cultural heritage and the role that museums play in this endeavour.
The students explored various sections of the museum, including galleries dedicated to ancient Indian civilisations, medieval history, and contemporary art. The guides provided detailed explanations of key exhibits, such as ancient manuscripts, sculptures, paintings, and coins, highlighting their historical and cultural relevance.
INTACH representatives expressed their satisfaction with the event, highlighting the importance of exposing young minds to cultural heritage. They emphasised their commitment to organising similar events in the future to foster a deeper appreciation of history and culture among students.
The museum walk was a resounding success, providing students with a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of India. Such initiatives are crucial in nurturing a sense of history and cultural awareness among the younger generation.
