Independence Day Inter-House Quiz, Pre-Primary.
In an attempt to stimulate the cognitive aptitude of the children, a Quiz for Pre-primary was successfully conducted at The Indian School-Second Shift on 12th August, 2015.
The show was electrifying as the competition was between the four glorious houses of TFS, namely: Venus, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. Ms. Neelima Oberoi was Quiz Master of the day. She encouraged our little Einsteins seated in pairs from each house to apply their knowledge and information. A total of 5 spell- binding rounds were held. The theme was Independence Day. All the questions were centred around the myriad historical events, people and monuments at the time of Indian Independence.
The first round was on General Awareness. This was followed by the second and third rounds which were the Visual round and the Musical round respectively. The participants were agile as they volunteered answers even as the audience sat on the edge of their seats! The mood of the children was exuberant and ingenuous which was befitting to bringing out a healthy competitive spirit in them.
In the fourth round the participants were to identify the freedom- fighters. A few students came dressed as freedom- fighters and were presented to the participants. The freedom fighters were Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Laxmi Bai, Sarojini Naidu, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and more. The fifth and final round was based on the states along the western coast of India.
Venus House was declared winner! All the participating houses were vigorously cheered by their house mates. The energy of the children was intoxicating and there was an upsurge of intelligence and wit. The objective of this endeavour was to motivate the children in applying and retaining knowledge on different topics. Such competitions encourage liberal study and also build self-esteem.
Mrs. Susan Thomas ( Head teacher) congratulated the winning house along with all the contestants for participating in the competition.
