Independence Day Assembly By Pre-Primary
Saare jahaan se achcha Hindustan hamara!
Lets stand up for the land where Gods dwell and the birds break into soulful melody! Lets pay humble homage to the land who taught the world how to live, love and laugh in brotherhood and harmony! We are proud to be the children of that land of ethnic festivals, undying spirits, ingenuous hospitability, infallible passion, holy rivers, sacred shrines, lush green valleys, spell binding folklores and an inexhaustible history of diversified cultures, conquests, races, Rajahs and chariots. To our motherland - INDIA!
India got independence on 15th of August, 1947. The whole nation was eagerly looking forward to this day in order to celebrate Independence Day that marked 69thglorious years of independence from the rule of British Raj. The children of Pre-primary at The Indian School-Second Shift also displayed their love and spirit for their country with a special assembly on 13th of August, 2015.
The program began with the evergreen songs We shall overcome and Nanha Munna Rahi sung by the children of Pre-primary classes. Dressed in white kurtas and salwars, the tiny tots show cased their patriotism as they sang with pride in their voice. The music was magnetic. There was hope and promise in the air. Next was the Fancy Dress show. The children came dressed as freedom fighters. Around 20 children participated. They came one by one to the stage and spoke the famous dialogues for which these brave freedom fighters are remembered and celebrated. In our small way we tried to offer our gratefulness and respect to the heroes who gave their lives for our freedom, for our country.

The little ones in their historic attires walked up to the stage impersonating the freedom fighters. Mahatma Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Bhagat Singh, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Pandit Nehru, Rani Laxmi Bai, Sarojini Naidu and also the legendary Assamese freedom fighter Kanak Lata Barua came alive in their innocent dramatization. Finally everybody stood up for the national anthem closing the assembly.
Let us take this opportunity to thank and remember these legends who gave it all for our nation. They never thought twice before braving the powerful enemy with tears and blood. Their determination brought the seemingly invincible British Empire to rubbles. Today we stand free and united. We owe this day to them. We are proud to be Indian. Vande Mataram!
