Hindi Choral Recitation

The aim of the activity was to develop confidence in the children by working on their communication skills in Hindi. Elocution is an invaluable medium to teach pronunciation , intonation and even assembling of thoughts coherently.

Hindi choral recitation for classes I and II was held on 30th October, 2014.

The run-up to the event, saw the classes practicing enthusiastically, learning good posture, gait and group-presentation . Emphasis was laid on voice-modulation, expression and actions while reciting the poem.

The children memorised the chosen poems and recited them as a chorus. Even the shy children joined the choral recitation practices and took part actively. They seemed to be thoroughly involved in the group effort. On D-Day, the children were very excited and eager to showcase what they has prepared!

The poems chosen by the classes were Mehnat Karne Wale Ki Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti by class I Canary, Kash Main Badal Ban Jata by class II- Sparrow and Kehnat Karna Seekho. The poems were based on the importance of hard work and nature.

It was a wonderful learning experience for the young children as it enabled them to acquire initiative and independance. They also learnt to conduct themselves on stage. They were as assured and enriched as we were!

On the final day , the students were enthusiastic and cheerful, ready to give their best. The classes went up on stage and gave an enthralling performance. The choral recitation was followed by a discussion in which the students were asked to describe the value they learnt from the poems they recited. The exercise was very animated and several interesting observations sprung from the little audience!

It was indeed a great show put up by all the students of classes 1 and 2. Congrats!
