Halleluiah! Christmas Time
Talk to and learn to write with a well-known author. Visit the zoo and learn about an endangered species. Immerse yourself in British traditions with students and teachers who live in the United Kingdom, Travel to the White House, or to an ancient Roman villa, or even to China. All from the comfort of your classroom. Though this sounds like an ad for a travel agency ( or maybe just a teachers dream field-trip list), all of this can be accomplished through the power of video conferencing: a tool incredibly useful in expanding the classroom beyond the confines of its physical walls.

Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, this session with the Conningsby Primary School U.K, was filled with love, joy and peace. Overriding every other emotion, a wave of cheer and excitement enveloped the children on both sides of the screen when they glanced at each other. The children wore Santa caps as they sat beside Christmas trees. Some wore christmas costumes and headgear. Enjoying the beats, the children sang carols like Jingle Bells and Long ago in Bethlehem. The children from Conningsby shared stories of the birth of Christ and explained why stockings are hung and milk and cookies are specially kept for Santa on christmas eve. The delight was uncontained. We look forward to more such sessions. Like Christmas, the technology too enables sharing and togetherness beyond the boundaries of cultures. Ms. Rajika Dixit
