Green Diwali: Uniting students with a French flair
In a sincere initiative by The Indian School- Second Shift, the students of classes 8, 9 and 10 participated in a French Green Diwali Poster-Making Activity on 6th November 2023. This distinctive event sought to infuse the celebration of Diwali with a sustainable ethos, fostering linguistic proficiency.
The central theme of the activity was to encourage students to express their ideas on having an eco-friendly Diwali. They were specifically asked to create posters in French to broaden their linguistic skills and emphasise the global importance of sustainable celebrations.
The resultant posters emerged as vibrant ambassadors of change, adorned with creative designs and messages, promoting waste reduction, discouraging the use of harmful firecrackers, endorsing eco-friendly decorations, and advocating energy conservation. The vibrant colours, catchy slogans, and creative designs were aimed at grabbing attention and spreading awareness. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these creations served as a platform for students to articulate their environmental concerns.
By crafting posters in French, students not only demonstrated their artistic prowess but also enriched their linguistic abilities. This fusion of cultural celebration and environmental responsibility created a bridge between Diwali's traditional roots and a global perspective on sustainability.
In this amalgamation of creativity, cultural celebration, and linguistic versatility, the French Green Diwali Poster-Making Activity stands as a testament to our School's dedication to nurturing holistic individuals. These posters serve as a poignant reminder, inspiring both the school community and beyond, to embrace green and more culturally inclusive future, and to adopt sustainable practices during festivals. School hopes that such initiatives will contribute to creating environmentally conscious citizens for a better and greener future.
