The 7th-grade students of The Indian School – Second Shift recently presented their favourite books in French. Each student explained key aspects of their chosen book, including its theme, plot, character sketches, and a brief description of the author.
The students first described the themes of their books, which ranged from adventure, mystery, and science fiction to real-life stories. The plot was outlined without revealing too much, creating curiosity among the listeners. For example, some students presented books featuring brave heroes embarking on epic quests, while others discussed stories of friendship, overcoming fears, or uncovering hidden truths.
The character sketches allowed students to explore the personalities, strengths, and weaknesses of the main characters, making the stories more relatable and engaging.
Additionally, students provided a brief description of each author, explaining their writing style, inspirations, and impact on literature.
Finally, each student shared why their chosen book was their favourite, reflecting on emotional connections, identification with the characters, or how the book influenced their perspective.
Presenting in French not only strengthened their language skills but also showcased their passion for reading and literature.
