Fathers Day festivities across the classes

Parents are the first friends of a child and every father is the first hero that a daughter looks upto, for a son he is his first role model. The children  of The Indian School-Second Shift made certain that their fathers were appreciated in the ways that they amply deserve this Father’s Day 2020. It is especially evident at this time when we are all confined at home,  that it is the family that is enabling us to bear up in these tough times.

The pre-school and the pre-primary students re-fashioned old mugs at home with artistic strokes of  paint, beads and ribbons to gift to their fathers. They made cut outs in the shape of hearts as an expression of their affection. Students of the Pre Primary made mango popsicles as per a recipe provided by their teachers, to enjoy with their Dads. 

Classes I and II students planned the perfect day. They shared ‘selfies’ with their dads, did yoga together, played indoor games and built a play fort with their dads using pillows, chairs, blankets, cardboard boxes and anything else that was handy at home. Some made badges of honour and trophies as a token of their appreciation for their fathers.

Classes III and IV students desugned creative posters depicting their fathers as their super heroes and even composed poems for them. The children printed their foot prints upon the prints of their dads’ adult foot prints, to symbolise a life long promise to always walk on the path their fathers did. Students handed their fathers handmade trophies made of paper cups.

Classes V to VIII took the celebration to a digital level where they made videos thanking their fathers, screening clips from their favourite movies, cooking their favourite snack. They each chose a piece of rock, painted on it and dedicated these to their dads with a short loving message. They also wrote letters to their fathers describing how they mean the world to them.

Even though the world isn’t at its best, the outpouring of love by the children seemed to make it all worthwhile!
