Excursion to the Humayuns Tomb, Pre-primary
It was a wholesome afternoon packed with learning, discovery, information, excitement and solemnity as the tiny-tots of Pre-primary on November 27, 2015, went visiting one of the best preserved monuments that embody the glorious history of the Mughal empire: The HumayunsTomb.
After a quick lunch, all the five classes led by their teachers made their way through the entrance that opens out on an exotic stretch of water channels, palm trees, pigeons and tranquil. The children were left wide-eyed at the sight of this outstanding garden tomb located at Nizamuddin, majestic specimen of Mughal architecture in India.
The children basked in the beauty of the monument as they patiently received accounts of the mighty Emperor Humayun, celebrated for his radical ways and unprecedented coups. The young learners quizzed endlessly as they ran their tiny fingers over the robust red walls. The children strolled around enjoying every moment. They finally climbed up to the central tomb where the remains of great Mughal Emperors are laid to rest. Humayuns Tomb was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after his demise. The architecture of the tomb has details both from Persian and Indian architectural traditions.
When it was time to return, the children wanted to linger a bit more. Eventually they headed to the buses with luminous eyes and happy faces, enquiring when they can expect a second visit!
