A young mind is flexible, sensitive, influenced and shaped by events in the outside world. Most of what children learn is acquired by exploring and observing.
An orientation programme under the Harela Foundation to learn more about the dangers that our planet is facing and about sowing is growing, titled ‘Ek Ped Desh ke Naam’ was organised on 22 August 23 at the Delhi Police Public School. The programme was graced by Dr Ashok Kumar Tyagi, Deputy Director of Education and members of Harela Foundation Mr Jai Kumar and Mr Puneet Sood.
Various participants from private and government schools across Delhi participated in the event. Ms Rekha Kapoor along with a student from class VII, represented The Indian School–Second Shift.
Harela Foundation is an environmental conservation organisation and is making a tangible difference in the fight against environmental challenges. Its dedication serves as an inspiration to all who deeply care about the well-being of our world. It isworking towards bringing positive change that can be achieved through collective action, the initiative being, to make the earth greener, cleaner and healthier for humanity. The programme seeks to help reduce pollution levels and create a sustainable environment for the future.
The programme began with a mesmerising dance performance followed by a nukkad natak dedicated to the environment and to raise awareness about the pollution caused by plastic. The play introduced novel ways to tackle plastic pollution and different substitutes that can be used as alternatives to plastic.The programme concluded with the national anthem.
The students not only got a good exposure but also got sensitised towards the need of the hour, which is to eliminate the use of plastic and save the environment.
