Class 8 attends Sahitya Aaj Tak Literary Fest

The Indian School-Second Shift has always encouraged students to participate in literary programmes. Students of class VIII had an opportunity to attend the Sahitya Aaj Tak Literary Fest: ‘Sahitya ke Sitaron ka Mahakumbh’, an annual celebration of literature and the arts, held at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. They spent precious time learning about the importance of literature in our lives. The fest aimed to bring together renowned authors, poets, journalists and intellectuals to engage in discussions, readings, and interactive sessions.

Sahitya Aaj Tak had organised various sessions over three days, from 24 to 26 November 2023. The fest was hosted in a vibrant setting, with multiple stages and booths dedicated to various literary genres. The atmosphere buzzed with intellectual energy as attendees explored bookstalls, engaged in thought-provoking conversations, and interacted with their favorite authors. Class VIII-A got the oppourtunity to listen to the famous Hindi poet, Sailesh Lodha. One of the highlights of the literary fest was the diverse range of panel discussions featuring prominent literary figures. The topics spanned from contemporary issues to classical literature, providing a comprehensive exploration of the literary landscape. Attendees were treated to insightful conversations that delved into the nuances of storytelling, social issues and the evolving role of literature in the modern world.

Sahitya Aaj Tak Literary Fest also aimed to be inclusive and accessible to a wide audience. It was a rich and fulfilling experience for the students, which succeeded in creating a platform that celebrated the written word, fostering dialogue, and promoting the diverse voices that contribute to the literary tapestry of the nation. We left the event inspired and with a renewed appreciation for the power of literature in shaping our understanding of the world
