Class 4 meet their Swedish counterparts on a video conference

The Indian School-Second Shift works at multi-cultural learning in which children interact with school children of their age groups from diverse countries. Today, the children of class IV had an amazing interaction session through video conference with the children of a Swedish school, Banslat Skolan, Stockholm. The beautifully crafted chain of events started with an introduction in which the children spoke about themselves, their families, hobbies, pets etc. and shared photographs.

The Swedish children sang a beautiful song in their language for us. Our children were thrilled to hear this as they had practiced the English version of the song in their class! They, in turn, sang the song enthusiastically and with actions! Our children also sang the popular song Hum hongey kamyaab, both in Hindi and English. Both sides couldn't contain their shared delight!

The educational system these days focuses on experiential learning. Taking a step further, the Swedish children demonstrated making a pop up Easter card. Our Aansi and Anshika, on their part, demonstrated, how to re use plastic bottles as planters. The students shared with their counter parts how they observed Earth Day.

The video conference ended in great camaraderie and with a promise to meet again to and exchange new ideas like the games they play in their respective schools.
