Christmas celebrations at The Indian School- Second Shift

“Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.” — Helen Steiner Rice

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Christ, observed on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

Christmas brings the warmth of festivity. So, this Christmas we might be Santa Claus for someone who really needs help such as a blanket or food or clothes. It is a festival of joy and sharing.

Christmas Day was keenly observed by the students of The Indian School-Second Shift.

The children of Pre-school, Pre-Primary, classes 1 and 2 presented a festive special assembly on the occasion of Christmas.

Our little Santas of Pre school presented a dance to a Christmas song. It was like a breath of fresh air and everyone loved the dance. Our Pre Primary children took us back to our childhood days with a fancy dress presentation where they dressed as stars, the christmas tree, Santa. Each one happily introduced him or self in a few lines.

Our classes 1 and 2 children filled hearts and brightened the day with the carols, storytelling and role play with a beautiful message of the need for focusing on positive emotions and abandoning the negativity.

Class 3 students, believingin the magic of Christmas, wrote their secret wishes for Santa on a handcrafted star. Students also shared instances in their own lives wherein they were given the chance to be someone secret santa for a day and fulfilled a wish longed for!

Students of class 4 sung Christmas carols in the class and  did  christmas craft by making tress out of waste materials  during the art class which inculcated their interpersonal and kinesthetic skills

Students of Class 5 made Christmas tree, snowman, star, mistletoe and other Christmas decorations using reusable materials available and newspapers. They also sang carols to spread the spirit of Christmas. This activity enabled the students to relish and share the joy of Christmas.

Students of class 6 -9 children decorated the board in such a way that it allured everyone .The efforts of the children to decorate the board even made them understand the importance of Christmas in our lives.

This celebration of Christmas  Day made an essential contribution to the overall holistic developments of the students and also created awareness among the children about the importance of the day.
