CBSE Adolescent Summit 2023

A three - day CBSE National Adolescent Summit on Life Skills, Mental Health, Safety, Well being 2023 was organised from 19th to 21st December 2023 in collaboration with Expressions India - The National Life Skills & School Wellness Programme at National Bal Bhawan.

Four students of The Indian School -Second Shift, namely, Riddhi Solanki, Siddhi Solanki, Moayin Ali Wani and Rudra Dubey of class 9 along with teacher incharge Ms. Neha Sharma participated in a series of events organised at the venue.

The summit threw light on integrated community involvement, family partnership, student health and psycho social needs and fostered effective Young Leadership as Life Skills and Wellbeing Ambassadors. All this was achieved through a series of events.

The first day of the summit began with a beautiful global school health exhibition showcasing the work being done by schools in promoting the key co-scholastic areas viz: life skills, attitudes, values, mental health and well-being, physical education and other allied areas like child rights, peer mentoring, positive parenting. Another health drive tool was The National Adolescent Well-being Parliament.  (Yuva Sansad) which focused on students' interface with experts in the field of health education and promotion, life skills, the culture of wellness, child health, and nutrition status,mental health and behavioural issues, mental health and child rights education.

Students also expressed their creativity and artistic talents through an On the Spot painting event- Utopia.

The second day of the summit  started with an invigorating health and well-being walk in the morning. This was followed by energetic participants presenting a series of ‘Nukkad Nataks’ on contemporary themes like school safety, girl child, mental health, bullying, etc.

Rhetorics- This young orators championship had the participants pick a topic on the spot and express their views on a wide range of topics such as peer pressure, spirituality, democracy, education, and anger to name a few. Another remarkable event was SurTaal where students participated in the ‘SurTaal’- Indian classical or western solo dance to display their individual brilliance, apply live skills, and ‘ be the star of the stage’.

Students were felictated with certificates and medals on the third day. The successful summit ended on a high note as it celebrated the energy and fervour of the youth with an aim to channelise their inherent potential and vivacity.
