Art competition based on Indias Heritage

On April 18, 2024, ITIHAS (Indian Traditions and Heritage Society) hosted an inspiring art competition at Purana Qila, aimed at nurturing creativity and promoting awareness about India's rich heritage among children. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of classes VI to VIII, who eagerly embraced the opportunity to express their artistic interpretations of India's diverse cultural tapestry.
Five students, Umar Farukh of class VI, Suryanshi and Sarah Saini of class VII and Tanmay Kumar and Shubh Kumar of class VIII, of The Indian School-Second Shift participated in the competition.
The theme of the competition centred around the heritage of India. It encouraged the participants to delve into the in-depth knowledge and appreciation of our country's historical monuments, cultural traditions, festivals and iconic landmarks. Armed with colourful palettes and boundless imagination, the children unleashed their creativity, producing a stunning array of artwork that showcased their deep connection to India's heritage.
During the competition, mentors and volunteers provided guidance and encouragement to the budding artists, fostering an environment of learning and exploration.
The event's judges' panel included Ms Akshara Patel, budding architect and designer, who brought her expertise to the competition. The joy and pride reflected on the faces of the participants, underscoring the success of the event in achieving its objectives.
This event by ITIHAS at Purana Qila provided a memorable educational experience for the students, enhancing their historical knowledge and cultural appreciation. The school looks forward to providing such wonderful opportunities and exposure to all the students.
