"Salute to the prodigious efforts and passion of our protectors."
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is also known as Bhartiya Vayu Sena and is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces. It is the world's fourth largest air force and its mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during armed conflicts. The Indian Air Force was established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire which honoured India's aviation service during World War II. Thus, Indian Air Force Day is observed on 8 October every year.
