Special assembly on the Sindhi way of life
India is a country where every great religion finds a home….
India has always been known for its vibrant and distinct culture. The country’s vibrant culture, which is an amalgamation of religions, festivals, food, art, crafts, dance, music, etc., attracts a large number of travellers. In this ‘Land of Gods,’ everything is special, from the culture and ideals to the customs, ceremonies, and traditions.
To celebrate one such beautiful and colourful part of India, a special assembly was organised by the students of classes 4, 7 and 8 on 31 July, 2023 on the aspects of Sindhi culture.
The presenters were Anabiya and Abhinav of class 7. The programme started with an informative PPT on Sindhi culture that was explained by Sahas Singh of class 7. It shared information about the origin, language, food, famous personalities and remarkable places of interest pertaining to the Sindhi community. It was followed by a melodious Sindhi song sung by Lalithya and Kashwini of class 7. Later Divya Makhija of class 8 presented some interesting facts about the culture that she learnt from her grandmother.
Indian culture is incomplete without mentioning its various dance forms. The folk dances of India are much more than mere body movements, they are considered a form of discipline too. When combined with aerobics, they become a routine for a complete workout of the body. The students of class 4 presented an energetic dance performance, which was a fusion of Karkattam, the ancient folk dance of Tamil Nadu and aerobics. It was a power packed performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
The assembly concluded with an exchange by the children of their views about Sindhi culture.
